One of our latest product updates involved a major app facelift. Whether your event uses the free Get Moments app or has integrated us into your official event app via SDK, this update changes the way your fans create their personalised recap videos.

So what’s new?

Home: overview of all events

The first thing a fan sees when they log in to the app, the Home screen is now a list of the events they have joined or set reminders for.

Tip: the sooner you promote Get Moments features at your event, the more attendees will create and share their recap videos. Starting before the event lets attendees log in or create their account, and set a reminder ahead of time. Once the activity is live, app users will automatically receive a push notification letting them know they can create their recaps.

Library: simplified content and privacy management

This section went from hosting videos, events, and Friends to the less crowded place for all recap videos made by a user and, separately, the user’s media library with all photos and videos they uploaded.

Crucially, this is also where users will manage their own content access rights. At any time after uploading, a user can share or unshare usage rights for each piece of media with the event organizer.

Friends: a shared media library

Now in its own dedicated button in the bottom menu bar, this is where event attendees can create friend groups, upload footage to a shared library, and manage group access.

Create: highlighted recap creation

This change just makes sense. Recap creation is the main action for app users to take, so we added a dedicated button to the bottom nav bar. Previously, it was only found in the media library.

How these changes help

With so many new features being added to the platform, the original layout would have resulted in confusing navigation and less visibility for important features like Friends and Feed.

The new update means more users will spend more time in the app and easily navigate to the highest-impact features.

Everything is now built around the event and the actions it makes sense for attendees to perform while at the event: celebrating with friends, creating recaps and sharing them, and connecting with other attendees in the Feed and watching their POVs.

This update not only improves the user experience, it also prepares the app for what’s next on the roadmap—you’ll have to stay tuned for those announcements.
